What's in a Name?

In Guided Reading , Jupiter came across a set of brackets in the text.  We discovered that these brackets explained the meaning of the people's names.  We then set ourselves a challenge of finding out the meaning of our own names and the reason our parents chose to give us that particuluar name.

Please post a comment to share with your friends what your name means and maybe even speak to your parents to find out why they picked that name for you.

To help you find out what your name means click HERE which will take you to a website which may help.  Simply type your name in the empty box and click 'go'.

Moral Maze 3 - Fooling with Fireworks

Dear Polly,

My friend gave me enough money to go and buy fireworks even though neither of us are old enough to buy them.  My mum will be really cross if she finds out but my friend will never talk to me again if I don't.  What should I do?

From Tim

Moral Maze 2 - That Bully

Dear Polly,

There's a boy who is being horrible to me at school again.  My Dad said to always tell someone at school if anyone threatens me, but I think that will just make it worse.  What should I do?

From Liz.

Moral Maze 1 - Pocket Money

Dear Polly,

There's a game that I want for my play station 2.  I've been saving my pocket money eack week but both my parents have just lost their jobs and I only get 25p each week.  At this rate it'll take me over 3 years to buy it.  As I was walking home from school, I found a purse on the ground.  It had £30 in it.  Should I use it buy the games?
